The shot carries the purpose here, however as it's frozen due to the high shutter speed, for me it doesn't convey the movement and speed you mention. Perhaps if the light permits, try and use a shallower dof to blur the background.

The excitement is very well captured. What bothers me - though only a little - is the background giving little context to what is happening and why. However, a very nice picture!
