I like this. Very moody. It's not a comfortable/happy bird image, so it plays against the vibe of the typical sunny bird photo. Those tree branches are doing almost as much work as the bird in terms of providing visual interest. Everything seems in motion: as if the bird can't stay there, as if the wind were blowing. The visually "busy" bokeh underneath the bird's legs gives the image some nervous energy. That would be unwelcome in a sunny day photo, but it does nice things here, so long as you are comfortable with this being an "uncomfortable" image.

I'd recommend a little sharpening and dodging to put a little more emphasis on the bit of branch up in the top right corner. You've got plenty of negative space in the center and top right corner. That's helpful, because it gives the bird some room to look out, but a little more definition in the branch would give the bird just a bit of something to look at.
