Following some of the received suggestions, I edited the image (Lightroom and Topaz sharpening AI) trying to obtain a better evidence of the head. Overall the contrast is a bit increased.

Thank you for the link to your airplane photos Pete, they are awesome!! Yes, I've seen some of your photos with a similar rendering of the background, and maybe you are right concerning the Pentax coating. However, I still have to know the DA 560 a bit better, to understand its rendering in different conditions.

Thank you for your kind words my friend! I should probably make a DA 560 album on Flickr with various nature photos where the lens qualities will be more evident. My latest Instagram photo of a common buzzard also shows the characteristic DA 560 rendering in the background trees and flora.

Hi Pete, yes, it can be a good idea to make an album to show the qualities of that lens. I have seen your photo of the buzzard on Istagram and you are right, the rendering of the background is similar to that in some of my photos, it may be a feature of the 560 mm lens, as you say!
