two pictures
Camera: K200d ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: --- Aperture: --- 

First picture was taken the first day I got the camera. It was taken with kit lens.
Second one was taken with 50mm f/1.4.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It looks like you are ok with WB and exposure and they are focused nicely.
Compositionally they could be a lot better. The main subject in both of these shots is dead centre and that (with few exceptions) doesn't make for an interesting picture.
It doesn't matter too much that you cut off the top of the boy on the rights head but it does matter that you have cut the girl in half vertically. This doesn't look like a candid shot so you should have had all three of them pose or one and not have the others in the picture. Alternatively you could have walked closer to exclude the other two or walked further away to include the other two entirely.

The second one has no separation between the subject and the background. If you had moved round to the left, you would have had a much better perspective and the subject would have stood out more from the background.

Hi Gary,

Thank you for the detailed advice. I found that your suggestion is very help.
I have been only focused on exposure and focusing while taking pictures. I will start to think more about framing and perspective.
