Lighthouse

This is a lighthouse at the sunrise in a small village named Melenara.

Very nice shot.

The clouds are great and the silhouette of the lighthouse is right on.
The light is a little coppery but that may just be my screen calibration.
You also have lots of cropping choices with this shot.

Stunning image but it does lose a little by the lighthouse being too centered. Just right of centre is the usual positioning but in this case, I think left of centre would be better.

Really well done.

I know, but the problem was there wasn't enough space to try another location.
I can't stand the tripod on the waves...

common, of course I'm KIDDING... excellent shot you have there. Really great capture and I wouldn't change a SINGLE thing (well maybe after second look I'd agree with Gary and would try to rotate the tripod/camera to the right to get the lighthouse little bit to the left side of the frame). Really superb ....

As much as I like this shot, and the sky, I just think there's too much of it given your perspective of the lighthouse in comparison.

I'm asucker for lighthouses. Just crop out some of the sky/clouds. Other than that wonderful.

All of the elements of the photo are magnificent: the sky, the silhouette of the lighthouse, the position of the sun are all wonderful. It's hard to imagine how the exposure, color balance or focus could be any better.

But...

I agree with Damn Brit that cropping would yield an improved image. I just "cropped" it on the screen with two sheets of white paper and find that I like it best when the sky above is removed and the sides are cropped to offset the subject in the frame.

If I were framing it for myself I would appreciate that large vertical crop and all the sky to work with. Put the lighthouse anywhere as long as you leave me the sky.
