Cherry blossom by the train tracks.

James, some short comments. I like the idea of this photo, but there are some points for improvement, I think.

I think the photo is not completely straight, but leaning to the right, right? And I am not sure the blossom is really in focus, but the detail in the photo is not enough to be sure. The buildings in the background are somewhat distracting and the overall colour of the photo is a little dull. Is it underexposed a little?

I agree with Rense's excellent critique.

Just a couple things I would like to add...

First of all, there doesn't seem to be any clear subject. There are the blossoms and train tracks, but which is the actual subject? Say, for example a person standing under one of the trees, or even better, find an angle so the train can somehow fit in compositionally.

There is also some distortions which can be fixed. Note the way the tracks "curve" up slightly at the photo's corners.
