B&W Barn

Shot a couple months ago at one of my favourite birding locations, I was leaning on a railing to steady the camera/lens. Two images manually stitched together in GIMP.

Camera: PENTAX *ist D
Lens: SIGMA 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG MACRO
Other equipment: Supplied lens hood
Aperture: F6.3
Shutter-speed: 1/1600 second for #1, 1/2000 second for #2
ISO: 400
Focal length (optical): 70mm

The larger version is awesome. i may have tried a few different angles on this shot. Well done. JIM

The first thing I notice when viewing this image is the dominance of the sun and how it overpowers the photo. I am having difficulty deciding what is the subject (sun, barn, mood etc). For a B&W shot like this I would have the sun behind the barn more to get a silhouette. In color this would be more dramatic, but in B&W I am afraid it doesn't work for me. I prefer seeing the full tonal range. I think you are on the right track and could revisit this subject.
