How fast they grow
Lens: 600 Camera: K10D ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F9.5

The "baby" osprey have grown to almost adult size in about sixty days from hatching. They tend to mill around in the nest quite a bit and considerable patience is required to catch all three faces, along with the proud mama osprey.

I like the effect of the orange eyes of two of the juveniles peering out of the nest at frame left...they seem to be staring back at the camera.

I experimented once again with cloning out the navigational bouy but couldn't get a natural appearance.

I thought I'd give it a try. Here's the results. I used the clone tool in PhotoShop Elements.

It's a bit dark though.

Thanks for your input.

I appreciate your taking the time to help me improve my image. Your results are similar to mine. I used a different brush with the Clone Stamp tool and blurred the results. I'm not happy with either approach and will, for the time being, leave the buoy in my picture.

Yeah, I didn't much like the results I did either. I was thinking maybe a layer over the buoy but I don't know if that would work either because of the bird's heads and between their bodies.

I think it's a lost cause on this one - one of those you just can't seem to fix.

A B&W conversion separates the birds from the background a little and obviously the orange band will no longer be as prominent.

A nice shot shame about the pole ? or mast, it could be fixed in photoshop with a little time, hope you dont mind i gave it a couple of mins and it looks not bad, with the original image and a little time and care you would not know the pole was there..

Richard.
