Not A Flower(psyc)

just warming up here.
This was shot with the kit lens.
Not sure if I like the dead material on the left.
Seems to add a kind of circle of life to it.

Your exposure is good, and I think you hit a sweet spot with the depth of field.

Concerning composition though: either the dead stuff adds to the photo or it doesn't. If it does, you need to incorporate it in a way that states your case in a direct way. If it doesn't, they need to go. But you need to be the one to decide. All in or all out.
