What a firy red colour here - almost too red!
Have you tried turning down the temp a little Ole?

Taking a look at the sky and the foreground, it seems the rock is properly saturated, and it's just another scientific marvel that it appears so red when the sun hits it. I like it just the way it is.

I do like the composition/framing and the inclusion of the shadowed areas to show how late in the day the photo is being taken. The clarity in those shadowed areas is quite good.

One thing of note: the warm in the light wavelength this late in the day coupled with a polarizer and EV -0.5 could saturate the image a bit more, but speaking from personal experience (I was there) I can say that the colors are incredibly vibrant that late in the day.

I just checked some shots taken in the same venue (Chimney Rock at Capitol Reef NP) and mine are indeed a very similar but slightly weaker hue of red (polarizer too). That's because it's even later on and the warmth of the setting sun is starting to have less strength. The reds are still quite strong and vibrant in my image though! I don't have anything taken right at that time to really comment as to how vibrant it was. I can confirm the colors in the last hour before sunset are nothing short of stunning at Capitol Reef.

Ole: are your EV settings on the camera used set at 1/2 stops? It must be or was, since that's not available when changing over to 1/3 stop increments.

Yes, the EV comp is set to half stop intervals.
