Shooting portraits at f/1.4 is always difficult because the DOF is so thin, even if you intentionally want areas OOF it's not easy to get it right.
With such a small image, it's hard to tell but the eyes do look in focus which is the most important thing.
As for composition, whenever you put your subject in the centre of the frame people's first impression is always going to be 'snap shot'.
Using a wide aperture was the right thing to do in this case because of the busy background and it worked. In this case though, the white of the door (or whatever) is a distraction so try and be aware of everything that is going on in the frame. In this case, if you crop it out you will also put the subject on the left of the frame and improve the composition at the same time But you could have done that when you framed the shot originally and that's always the best option.
I think the way you've cropped her in the frame looks a bit funny, instead of head and shoulders or head and torso, you've got head and half a torso (it gives me the impression that she's posed uncomfortably). Having said that, in this case head and shoulders would be better (so you could also fix that by cropping), if you wanted head and torso, holding the camera vertically (portrait style) would be better.
