Ice Forest
Lens: 35mm Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Island Line, Burlington ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F8

Not REALLY macro, I guess... I didn't have to enter macro mode, this was just barely within the lens' standard focusing range.

The camera is about an inch off the ground.

I would use a larger aperture to blur the background. For this shot, I would probably get a bit higher so that you have less sky, those ice formations should also become more three dimensional shooting slightly across the top of them.

The ship (?) and the other clutter in the background distracts from the ice structures. Either make it more blurred or compose otherwise so that it' s not there. I don't think the sky adds much to the picture either.

I vote for getting closer, getting lower and going black and white to show the texture better.
