Shadow Rider

what do you think of this photo? is serpia or b&w more appropriate for a shadow reflection picture?

I think it works very well here. This is a great shot - Very simple, well composed, and highly abstracted, helping make it highly expressive. See for example: pbase Artist Phil Douglis

dude, I am a huge fan of your work so far. I find myself looking forward to pictures you post for critiquing.

In this one, I can't decide if I like the negative space on the left side. It's nice not to have the subject centered, but then the space behind him just seems so... useless.

I tried this picture in B&W, but I prefer with the sepia treatment you gave it.

This is really good, but as Frank mentioned the negative space, I'd rather see that ahead of the rider. I don't think it needs to change but that's what I would do if I had to make a change.

That's what it is! I couldn't put my finger on why that negative space bugged me, but that cleared it up. It seems like it would've bugged me less if it was ahead of the rider instead of behind him.

I'll disagree, I think the position of the bike in the photo gives it some sense of movement, of where its been. (or maybe its the beer i'm drinking) Or maybe its the position of the umbrella. if the umbrella were positioned forward, I'd imagine I'd prefer the bike to the left.
