Through the Grid
Lens: 31mm Camera: Pentax K20D Photo Location: Production Way Station - Burnaby ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F2.8

Curious as to what you folks think of this image.

Something about it speaks to me. Lately I've been delving deeper and deeper into these artsy images in an effort to develop my own style. I am inspired by Jeff Ascough, Sam Abell and Henri-Cartier Bresson... so far

thoughts?

Note: Sorry! don't know how to resize the image on this forum... can someone show me?

Very interesting. Cool silhouette exposure...

It draws me in but I'm sorry I can't figure out what I'm looking at.

You don't have to know what you are looking at to enjoy it.

I think the image is great.

Appears to me as more of an abstract image, although I can make out the parts of the scene OK.
I like the high contrast rendered in the image and the complementary earthy colours that blend in well together.
Interesting result.

This is pretty cool. It has a very abstract, artsy feel to it. Did you do any post processing to get that effect?

I love this image and what you are doing. But I find the letters in the foreground too distracting... it is the stuff to the left of the image I am more interested in.

This is definitely interesting, and unique, and I think that I like it a lot. At least I liked it a lot when I first looked at it, and then the more I kept trying to figure out the various parts of it I started to not like it as much. I think it's just a little too much for an abstract artsy photo.

My first thought is that this is an abstract picture.
But where is the subject? Is it the silhouette exposure or the sharper and in-focus counter (on the right)?
But, never-the-less, this is an interesting and high contrast picture. I like the high contrast and the earthy colours that blend in well together.

Cheers.

This one is "cinematic" I like it very much. This one should be printed bigsize!

I don't know why, but I like it. I want to know more about the silhouette. To improve it maybe desaturate the greens.

Like some others have said, I'd clone out the grafitti on the newspaper box, otherwise, looking good.

Skytrain station?

yup yup, Production Way/University Skytrain station!

Wow, a lot of comments on this one I'm trying to think of ways to modify it but... I can't really. it seems to be it's own "thing".

I guess it's almost a visual binge of sorts...like it just fills your visual stimulation but as for a deeper meaning it seems to be a bit more difficult to grasp.

I really like this and can't quite put my finger on why. The only thing I'd suggest is leveling the image with one of the center lines of the grid.
