Well this is simply beautiful. The only suggestion that I might give is to crop out a little of the bottom since it's just kind of useless space, especially the log that is closest to you that is a little bit distracting. Other than that and maybe getting rid of the trees on the side, this is a really good photo.

I love this picture. I agree, chop off the bottom but the trees don't bother me. Good detail in the highlights but I would like to see more detail in the shadow areas. If you shot it in RAW you could do a little HDR to get the balance.

I did shoot in RAW...not sure what HDR is? Will look through the Pentax software and figure it out.

2 reasons just the log in the foreground (too much snow on slippery rocks to get closer...and WAY too many people if I moved back further...took like 10 minutes waiting my turn to get this close).

Thanks for the input...will try it without the log.

I agree with jct, Crop the log and the trees on the right, the log is a distraction to the scene.
Cropping the trees on the right moves the waterfall from being in the centre.

First let me say that the picture looks wonderful. However, I would also agree that the tree in the foreground has got to go. Other then that I it looks great and very majestic!

Nice shot. If it were me, I'd have panned up for more sky and none of the log. I'd say crop it either where the log/snow meet the rock on the left, or where the lower branch meets the trunk before the bulk of the tree on the right (which I'd do, cleaner corner).

I thought no one else had mentioned the need for more sky but then re-read the thread and found this. To me there has to be more sky for the mountains to have space to breath. Right now there's a cramped feeling.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the input...I will take not of all the suggestions...very new to this...if you've ever been to this fall there is a cramped feeling...those mountains are 2500 feet straight up...going back in the fall...I will surely make an improvement.
