Pentax SYDNEY meetup/workshop Time and Location

(if you haven't already registered your interest, please do so in the thread above so we know approximately of how many people is attending.

some of the activities that i have thought off for the workshop would be:
- Helping beginners how to use their gears etc
- Share tips and techniques
- and go out as a group to put our gear to use with the knowledge that we just obtained from one another.

Meeting Point 1:
Sydney CBD in front of Gloria Jeans on George St (All Day Parking can be easily found at Market City or near by parking complex)
then we will have a little workshop, then go to this event http://vividsydney.com/

Meeting Point 2: (As Suggested by Jo)
some landscape shots along the river, the bridge, Parramatta city with its highrise, coffee along the river to share some knowledge.

Date: Saturday (29/5) or Sunday (30/5)
Time: 2:00pm

OK ... roster looks clear going on projections for that weekend ... now I have to check with the Minister for War and Finances.

I have already voted on this thread and didn't mind which venue. But i have changed my mind and strongly suggest we meet in the CBD.
Starting on 27th May will be The Vivid Sydney festival. Macquarie Street and The Sydney Opera house will be lit up with special lighting.
We could meet for coffee and a workshop then get some shots of the city during the day. When it is dark we could get some wonderfull shots of of this special lighting display.

There doesn't seem to be very much interest being shown for this meet-up.

Come on guys & or gals there are quite a few Sydney members on this forum. Lets get together and share our knowledge and meet new friends.

This is a great opportunity(weather permitting) to get some wonderfull photos of the Sydney Vivid festival.

Well, the weather is not looking too promising for Sunday at the moment. But as long as it is not pouring down i will be there in the CBD.

Just one question!..which Gloria Jeans? Apparently there are 5 in or very near George Street.

The strong wind warnings are for Illawarra and the South Coast. At present there are no severe weather warnings for the Sydney area.

Yes i think it is best to postpone the workshop until 06/06/2010 because of the bad weather. what is worst than not being able to capture the beauty of the vivid festival is getting yourself and your gears wet. it is a shame because i was looking forward to this trip for so long.
