We had a good turnout (9 or 10 folks)!

And the sadly "pre-production" K-5 and K-r's aside (card doors still taped up!), this made it worth going:

Sorry about the camera shake - it was 1/20 and worth $10,000!!

Whoohoo!

Got my photos from the pentax booth here ->
K-5 At the Henry's Photo Show - a set on Flickr

Haven't been to the pentax booth since 2007, so it was great to get back and check it out again!

Overall, a good turnout. Somewhat disappointed that the DA 18-135 and DA-L 35 f/2.4 weren't available, but the production 645d and K-5 demo were fun to play with. Maybe Canada will be back at the front of the line for the next round of new lenses and bodies.

BTW, I spent Sunday on the islands with the K20D and realized "I really do need better AF response!"

The only troubling thing is that I wasn't able to "try out" the K-5 AF with a card in the slot, and frankly with my 35mm Macro at the demo stand, the K-5 didn't seem to AF much faster than my K-x, which is only a bit zippier than my K20D. Might be different with SDM lenses - who knows?

I went with a couple of my friends and my father on Sunday--my dad enjoyed the seminars and my friends found an automatic lens (Sigma 28-80) for their K7. I dug out a Tamron 28-80, too. The price was right!

Great show all around! This was my first time and I would go again for sure!

Greeting all torontonians!
I know this thread is getting a bit old, I attempt to come on saturday morning, end up comming @ 3pm, 401 was totally blocked up by a flipped over truck. Took me an 90 mins to get there, and then another 30 mins to park.
But yes, I am amazed that I get to play with the 645! It was lighter than what I expect too!
