I did some scouting on Sunday.

I came up with three possible meeting/lunch places:

Chipotle Mexican Grill

Miss Shirley's Cafe

Five Guys

Does anyone have strong preferences or objections?

Miss Shirley's looks good to me... Nice variety. Chipotle and Five Guys are nice enough but are rather one dimensional.

I would love to join in for this event (Baltimore's Inner Harbor is a fun place to shoot), but my company is deploying a major software release that weekend, so there's no way I can make it. Do you guys do these regularly? Something in the spring would be fun.
I definately want to plan something for late winter/early spring... Any ideas (other than a cruise to the Bahamas...LOL)?

I'm flexible on fooding so long as I don't have to cook it or clean up after it. I introduced Dave to the joys of the Chipotle burrito on my Bmore visit with the twins over the summer.

This is probably a stupid question, but how does one join the NCAP? I would be interested in attending.

To join, I think you go here and click on a "Join Group" link. That should get you on the mailing list. But whether you do that or not, please do join us--just show up with a Pentax.

We have actually had get togethers where individuals showed up with other than a Pentax, and the ribbing and catcalls were held to a minimum. We like photographers.

But a certain level of ribbing and catcalls are mandatory... LOL

I got the following response from the Aquarium:

"Photos can be taken at all exhibits except the ones that are labeled so. Tripods cannot be used in the building as well as excessive lighting. And of course no exhibits can be blocked so that you can take photos. "
So does that mean we can bring a monopod?

One thing I recommend for shooting in aquariums is a rubber lens hood for any lens you want to use for "underwater" shots. Since they are flexible, they let you put the lens right up against the glass and eliminate reflections of people or objects around and behind you. Something like this...
