Trip to Anza Borrego, CA

I am going to Anza Borrego State Park in Southern California March 24th. It will be a one day trip but we will arrive before sunrise and leave after sunset-will be a long day-bought another SD card!
Haven't been there before- have good guide but he's not a photographer. Don't have much time to follow rabbit trails to poor viewpoints.
Wildflowers should be in full bloom.
Any suggestions for vantage points and good canyons and wildflower views?
What's best places for sunrise and sunset?
What's good areas for midday harsh sunlight?

I was there in October, so I can't really say how it will be in March.

This is a trail at the visitor center.

and a little fish pond there, too.

This is looking easterly toward the A-B desert.

Anza Borrego is the largest state park in the nation with an impressive variety of terrains. I recommend spending more than one day!
In regards to mid-day sun, try "Split Rock." It's a canyon that cuts through the desert for good while. You will be in the shade most of the way and the lighting is perfect.

Wish I could spend more than one day! Maybe next year-this is as much a scouting trip as anything. Been raining A LOT in Socal last few days but should be clear for my visit. Thanks for the info about Split Rock-I will check it out.
