I am interested too. In theory I have every other Friday off, but in practice that has not really occurred, as I have been traveling (for work). I am available most weekends. I'll just hop in the pickup and meet up where ever.

I guess I should join the Amazing Arizona Group. I just found the "join group" link - that was easy....

I live in the Squaw Peak (yes, I still call it that) area, am retired, so with enough notice, any day is fine. I use a K-5 and occasionally my older K200D. If I could make a suggestion. Let's wait until Adam is available and then do a "project participation" meeting - like photographing downtown Phoenix on a Sunday, the Botanical Gardens, South Mountain views, etc. Then we can bring our cameras and be able to compare notes on techniques, lighting, composition, etc.

Sounds like great idea.

I shoot with a K20D and I live in North Phoenix next to North Mountain. The only thing is I don't have a car, but I would be interested in doing a meetup if it's somewhere along a bus line.

Ditto, I. I could come up from Gilbert. Don't get up in your area much. It would be a new area to see.

Hey welcome everyone! Anyone have any ideas of where we should hold our meet and what day? unfortunately i work on weekends. are you guys available on fridays?
I can take a Friday off for the cause

As to where, I'll start with a couple of suggestions which might also provide some photo opps:

McCormick Railroad Park, Indian Bend and Scottsdale road.

Lost Dog Wash trailhead, at the very end of 124th Street a mile or so north of Shea Blvd.

In case you haven't noticed and might be interested: One of our members, Royce Howland, exhibit in Gilbert in November - I plan on joining the reception on November 7:

So, are we going to do this? Or just talk about it. I count 10 local + desertscape from Tucson, if he can make it. I'm thinking Friday, Nov 2nd.
I like McCormack park. If I remember it has places to sit to talk, and maybe some place to get drinks.
Mkrider or I could pick up Cregar.

What do you think?

Not mention, we could all brag on the "are we really that rare" topic, how many Pentax cameras we saw over the weekend

Plus we could all get to look at dlv's K30 if he wouldn't mind.

I have no idea when the park opens. I'll look it up. I'm thinking let's wait till this coming weekend & see if we get any more coming.
I'm thinking in the morning, but not sure how early. For me there will be a boatload of traffic on the 101 that I'd like to miss. But whatever works for you guys.
Looking forward to meeting up with you guys. Always looking forward to picking others brains.
Hopefully we get more coming. Later in the year maybe we can get together with Adam. That would be way cool
