I only have the one lens, the 70-210, hope to soon have another. That is not the lens for cityscapes or landscapes.

Don't worry about that. If you want I'll lend you my18-135 on 2 conditions.
1. don't break it
2. Give it back

Or we could shoot something else. Could do the zoo, but would cost $$. Point is I don't think we're lock in to anything yet

Dma110: Thanks for the offer but I will be receiving another lens in a few days. Tell you what, on a cloudy day, we should tackle those old machines at the Gilbert Historical Museum. If I find something that's killer, I may go back and take my 4x5. (Yes, I still shoot film...but not much)

BTW, let's try to do something specifically in Gilbert or near Gilbert.

I think the 12th would be fine with me. I have a lot to learn. I'll have to check with wifey and make sure she has not planned something....you never know!

To bad it's so far away. Next weekend there is a hot air balloon festival at monument valley. Imagine the background

Yeah, I have shot balloons before back in Tennessee. Was shooting kodachrome 25 most of the time. You ever shoot film?

Say, could we do the Japanese garden not this Saturday, but the next? I received my new lens yesterday and I'm ready to try it out.

I'm kind of sad I just discovered this thread. I've always felt that these forums were rather Arizona heavy.

If you ever have a get together on a weekend when me and my girlfriend aren't horribly busy, I'd love to come. I'd even force her to use my old Kx, just so she fits in.

Yes, indeed! And so is New Mexico, and also Utah.

Thanks for reminding me that I really need to take my kit on a road trip.

Am I insane for thinking the desert is one of the most beautiful environments on Earth?

You probably are as nutty as a fruitcake! But don't tell my New Mexico born wife that I said that....she would string my ass up and take pictures.
