Well, the only ones to show were Ole and myself, but we had a great time touring downtown Phoenix and taking some fun shots, he with his K-5IIs and me with my K-5. Here's a couple of pics I just took off my memory card as examples:

That second one is fantastic!

I wish I could have come. In the end my friend even flaked out (she has an excuse, illness in the family). I suppose there is always next year (or if there is ever another get together).

Here are two that should give good photo opportunities:

7th Avenue Street Fair - March 2 only 11AM-5PM. 7th Avenue north from Indian School Road to the grand canal. Plenty of antique automobiles and collector cars!

WWII military aircraft at Mesa Gateway Airport (formerly Williams AFB) E. of Chandler. Planes will include the only flying B-29 in the world. March 2 and 3.

You'll find me at both with my K-5!

I have had this K-30 since Christmas and had never in my life even touched a Pentax. But, holy crap! I could swear these Pentax lenses beat my Nikons! Un -real!!!! And my Nikon lenses are not a bunch of dogs. (I had a couple of Vivitars back in the old days, and they were not the best glass.)

Dang, I wish I had found this thread sooner! It only just occured to me to look for other Pentaxians in the area.

I'm new to the area, just moved here in November, but I'm amazed at the beauty of the landscape here. It takes my breath away daily. I live in south Tempe, but I just put "Phoenix" in my profile because more people know where that is.

I hope this group hasn't fizzled out. Is there still enough momentum for more get-togethers? Most of my ideas are hikes, but it's beginning to get a little warm for that. (What do you people do in June??) Someone mentioned Wickenburg? I have an Aunt and Uncle up there. Vulture Peak is a great hike in the area I've done before with them. My anut is 72, so it's not terribly difficult.

I don't have a car at the moment. A drunk driver took it out while it was parked last week, and I have low hopes of it getting fixed. I'm hoping to have a new one within the month.

I'm free all weekends, if someone would be kind enough to pick me up, or I could bike if the meet is within a 10-mile radius. I'd love to meet some of you guys (or gals?). Any ideas? I've joined the "Amazing Arizona" group, too.

I was back in the Detroit area last week and with a high of 80 (and a low of 55), it was a very pleasant respite from the oven.

we are in north phx but would love to be kept in the loop of get togethers

once September and the cool weather comes back, would be open to organizing group outings to Sedona, payson, grand canyon etc
