Hi Mr Vyas,

Good to be in this thread. The Rajasthan link makes the association all the more warm.

Indeed I am interested in long lenses. I have bought with the kit a 55-300 3.5 -5.8 DA L. Frankly, while its ok for its price it is not 'great'.

A few questions. How compatible will this PK/A lens be with the new Kx body. Secondly lens condition? I assume in dry Rajasthan, fungus should not be a problem. Thirdly, the price. Vyas sb, my email is ariban@gmail.com Do drop me a line of mail so that we can take this discussion further. What other lenses do you have?

with regards,

Arijit

Vyas sb, I have sent a PM.

I have a typical problem. My Kx .DNG files are not being read by Photoshop elements 2.0

My laptop (Vista) will not install the PDCU 4.0.

Any suggestions?

Happy New Year

Here's wishing all Pentaxians a happy 2010.

Got a good deal on a Sigma DG 70-300 f 4. At 4.5 K it is certainly worth its salt.

4.5K sounds a sweet deal. Where and how did you get it?

A very happy new year for all of you.

Re: Siva : Sigma 70-300mm

It was more of luck than design Siva. I had requested an old camera repair shop people to be on the lookout for used Pentax lenses.(old as 100 years old).

they rang up to inquire if I wanted to look at a Vivitar 70-210 manual lens. i said no. then they asked me to look at this one when I had gone over to pick up my old wide angle after cleaning. Took a look, and was skeptical about how it would perform. a couple of test shots showed that it gels well with my Kx. In fact, IMO, this was a great buy. images are quite crisp at around f8. A wee bit of fungus- can be cleaned later. Check out the images. Even after significant cropping, they are still sharp.

There was a time when Pentax used to be a preferred name in Film SLRs in Kolkata. In fact Nikon and Pentax were the two respected brands.
Now that in Digital Nikon and Canon rule the markets, old used pentax stuff does keep appearing in the market. Then only Pentax allows use of legacy glass on new bodies.

They called to take a look at a135mm tele yesterday.....

Hi All,

An A*300 is available in marketplace. it is damaged but still I think it can beat most of the zoom lenses.
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/photographic-equipment-sale/85908-sale-pe...4-damaged.html

Price I think can be negotiated.

Vyasji

hello again Vyasji,

yes, for its price, it is good indeed. However, no way can a zoom compare with a prime.

the A* 300mm , is indeed a mother of a lens. However, this one seems to have too many scratches on its front element.

Lets see...

Hi Satya,
You can buy from the forum, custom will charge you according to the price of the lens. Please ask the seller to ship it insured & traceble (use USPS I fell you have better chance of getting away with customs).
If you can pay using paypal its easy.
