Taking all three of my kids on a trip

CBA and LBA hit me hard this spring, and I added a bunch of lenses and a K-01 and a K-30 to what I already had (my beloved K-r with close to 6K actuations, 1/2 of which have been ~this year). Since my next trip is a road trip and I'll have my car, I can lug pretty much anything I want with me.

So here is the plan:

K-01 and the 40xs were kind of made for each other, so that is pairup #1.
K-30 is WR as is my 55-300 (and my 18-135) so I'll do one or the other, probably the 55-300 for most of it.
K-r gets the DA21 Ltd and the DA15 Ltd as a backup.
And of course I'll bring the 10-17 since you can never have too many fishie pictures.

That way no matter what the subject is (or the weather) I'm ready!

great set of lenses, and it's great o not have to swap out since you have so many camera bodies. I agree about the 10-17. Have fun.

The 10-17 and the 18-135 were pretty much the only things I used on the K-r this January in Cali/Utah. About 65/35. I never got gerb in the sensor when switching but I was nervous every time.

Are these grown children or still young? And are you going to assign a camera/lens combo to each, or are you the Official Family Photographer?

Oh, and look out for any stray gerb!

Sounds like a good plan to me. Yes, CBA and LBA are real things and very costly. Thankfully my CBA is over with my two bodies and LBA won't be back till Pentax releases the DFA * 85, which should give me a nice while to save for it.

"kids" = camera bodies. Fully grown.
