Six lenses on full frame is not travelling light. ONE lens on APS-C is travelling light. Failing that, KP, 15, 40, 70 or 35 macro in place of the 40, is a good spread, and one polarizing filter fits all.

Still, we shall see what Sandy takes and how he gets on in due course.

Just to be that person. Are you taking one camera?

I currently have little Pentax gear, but if I could only take camera it is the Ricoh GR. If I have two, then a short tele goes on the DSLR (or, in my case the GM1 + 35-100mm or 45mm Oly), and the GR goes in the pocket, set up for hyperfocal, on TAV.

Have a great, and safe trip. Do post shots!

One K-mount body. My wife will have the Q7.

All packed and ready to go! Sense prevailed and I'm sticking with crop.

KP, spare battery, charger.
10-17, 15, 21, 31, 55, 77, 100 macro, 55-300. Might yet cull the 15 and 77 or 100.
tripod, polarisers, cleaning kit. Still deciding about the flash.
It all fits in the Nova 4 and weighs much less than my UK kit last year.

It now appears Joan isn't interested in carrying the Q, so she'll be on iPhone duty

Still deciding about the flash.
In my recollection, the circumstances when my film camera's onboard flash wasn't enough were those in which flash of any kind was either expressly forbidden (along with tripods) or wouldn't have helped anyway.

My four-lens APS-C (K-5) travel set last time I was on my own was 15, 21, 40, 70, three of which (not the 40) I had recently acquired and wanted to try out.

Are you sure you cannot ditch the Macro for an even lighter kit? Or are you taking it in the expectation of close-up work in wet weather? The 55-300 has you covered for telephoto, and you can crop from the 77 for portraits. If close-up is what you want, the 35 Macro (if you have it; IIRC you do) might serve you better than the 31, though as with most of your other lenses you would have to keep it dry.

Yeah, I've culled the DFA100WR.
The flash will probably stay home too.
The FA31 is not negotiable, especially as I just received a mint silver MIJ copy in the mail today

Although the DA21 gives me the flare resistance and starbursts, leaving the DA15 behind also rankles somewhat.
As much as I love my 21, in Florence ni particular the 15 would serve you better. It can do most of what the 21 can do, and is wider. Its starbursts are just as good. And with the KP you can crop if needed.

Yeah, okay, that would probably tilt my balance too. Do look after it, though.

Are we still making submissions? I have a new one; DA16-85 + FA43. Period, the end.

That would involve buying a new lens. Not happening

After all the culling there was a spare compartment in the bag.
My FA43 was looking very lonely on the shelf with the other two Amigos already packed, and then my only remaining DA limited (35 macro) shouted "ME TOO!"

So here they are:

Limited options

My wife rolls her eyes when I buy a new lens, but she'd tear mine out if I spent three to four figures on an expensive lens I already have one of.

Take the black FA31 with you if you must and leave the silver MIJ in a safe place at home, because if you drop it or it is bag-snatched so soon after acquisition you will NEVER forgive yourself.

Put the 43 back in the cupboard, and the 35 macro as well. Travel light and enjoy thyself. You and your wife are going on holiday, and your camera is a peripheral - not the other way around!
