Or, the other way. Sandy's very fit and strong, I reckon he should take his 645 and favourite lenses ...

So long as the bills are paid, the family is clothed and the dogs are fed, she doesn't really much care. But I know I would get "that look", especially if I brought home (at various stages) not one but two thousand-dollar lenses that are (to the non-Pentaxian) identical in almost every way. And you're talking to a man who bought silver lenses for his black K-5 so he could shave tens of dollars off the cost of each.

Enjoy your holiday and let us know how your kit gets on.

We got into Milan mid-afternoon, but battled the jet lag with a solid walk. I pared the lenses down to the 10-17, 15, 21, 43 and 77.

Another big day on the lake. It started with a gloriously calm morning.

Then we spent the day on the lake taking the slow boat to Menaggio.

A few from Venice. The KP is still performing admirably.

The view from our hotel room. DA21

The Bridge of Sighs. DA*55

The cathedral of Santa Maria della Salute. DA10-17

....and her Black Madonna. FA77

I am a stickler for getting verticals and horizontals right, but in Venice that is not always possible HD55-300

And finally, a tracking AF test on a fly-by seagull. The five shots after I honed in were all acceptably focussed, three were good enough to take deep crops. This is the best and is a near maximal crop. HD55-300 (considered a very sluggish focusser)
