RIght now there's about 500 wild trumpeter swans on the Mississippi River in Minnesota. Check out the swan cam to view them live. During the winter the number of swans here varies from 0 to 2,000 - just depends upon the weather.

I've photographed swans at this location for about 13 years. One time there was a Nat Geo photographer there who set up next to me. He'd just had a recent wildlife photo he'd taken in Africa make the cover of National Geographic.

We have seven trumpeters wintering in Sudbury Ontario this year. I visit them quite frequently.
