RAF 100th Anniversary Fly Past - London, July 10th

There's a more or less unique photo op coming up - the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force on July 10th, which will include a 100-aircraft flypast over central London. There's also going to be a parade at Buckingham Palace but you're unlikely to be able to get near it if you're not present or former RAF personnel.

More details here:

Details released for RAF’s 100th birthday flypast over Central London – IanVisits

I will have to find a good vantage point for this - I didn't see as much as I would have liked for the Queen's birthday earlier this month, too many tall trees near my house, though I did get this, the Battle of Britain commemorative flight:

Assuming nothing goes wrong I'll probably put an album up on Flickr and link to it here.

Managed to drag myself to Waterloo and onto the South Bank of the Thames for the fly-past. A bit colder than I expected, and fairly cloudy, but I got some reasonable pictures - 178 of them, plus a lot of duds and duplicates I deleted!

They're all on line here

I need to go through and identify the aircraft types etc., and I'm not the world's best at aircraft ID. Any and all help will be appreciated, just add to the comments on the photos if you know them.

Some samples below:

I'm not sure what's going on, but I can't see any of the photos????

I should be more specific - I can't see the Flicker photos. I see the ones in this thread.

That's very odd, nobody else has reported any problems. Is this still happening?

When I have had that problem in the past it has been my connection to Flickr - either a low bandwidth issue (poor connection) or a problem between my ISP and that site (somewhere on the path between my connection and the site there is a problem). It usually clears up in a few hours in the latter case and as soon as connection speeds improve in the former - at least for me.

And now they pop up with no problem! Go figure.

What a neat fly-over!! Like the "100" formation. Great bunch of photos - thanks for sharing.

If anyone was wondering about any of these aircraft, they're all now identified.

My father flew a Lancaster as a gunman. I was showing the logbook of my father yesterday to my son, incredible story. On their flight back to Canada at the end of war , one motor stop and they have to stop in Canary Island before flying to Newfoundland for repair. We also read about some key mission it done and was reported in newspaper that he kept. I love my dad..
