Northern Lights in Fairbanks - December/January??

Hello All,

My wife and I are perhaps planning a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska next winter to view the northern lights.

Any experience here as to best time to go? I have been there in the summer, but not sure what the nights are like in the middle of winter.

We live in Flagstaff, Arizona, so not afraid of the cold (we get -20 F here every winter, and have seen -30 F on the back porch a few years ago).

And, I know to keep my batteries (for K3 and K1) warm!
