Did you ever get that massive lens repaired Ross? Where did that get to?

It is still with Greg, We have been chasing down information and possible answers for repairs - which just takes time, but the last 3 months I have not had time for follow up - it has been very busy since I went to the USA in August. As an example of busy, right now I am in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia working for the World Bank for a week.

I think the solution to the repair is probably going to be laser scanning the broken part, and then 3D printing it. So the next job will be tracking down someone to do that.

That sounds pretty cool but in reality it was an autobid and an eternity sitting there waiting out those last 2 minutes!

But comments on price though? NZ$408 is about US$265 (.65). Then postage then GST. I think I did alright so long as I can justify the need.
Nearest lens I currently have is a series 1 Vivitar 90mm 2.5 (Bokina) which I scored the other day for $40. Its focus is a little stiff though, fine for closeup but I want something fast for low light portraiture. And I think that stop of aperture would really matter.
Perhaps my Revenue 55mm 1.2 is a competitor rather than a companion.
It could be argued a Samyang 85mm 1.4 would be similar price second hand but it will depreciate in value.

Nah!

It's worth what you're willing to pay. No more, no less.
