Lovely. It’s ten months since we were at Tekapo, brings it all back.

We went Lupin hunting today on a road trip to Lake Tekapo. Very nice day

Lenses FA 50 Macro for the flowers, and Voigtlander 20mm for the Lake.
Nice photos, and nice to see some blue sky. I got down to Timaru briefly, but the day we drove down, south of Waipara, we ran into the heaviest rain I've ever driven in on the east coast of the South Island.
I actually did very little photography while we were away.

I have to say Ross, sorry I didn't have time to give you a call, but you do have some nice Christmas lights around Timaru.

All good, catch you next time

The Christmas lights at Kauri Street are fantastic - we go and see them every year

Happy New Year!

Happy New Pentax Year, we could add as well, as 2019 promises to see Pentax make their centennial anniversary count.

It is certainly going to be interesting to see what develops in that space

Happy New Year everyone.

For those who've followed my approach to file naming, or who'd like to give it a go this year, now is the time. I've also taken an extra step this year in restarting my numbering from 0001. That's based on some confusion over the last week as I was going through the last 8 years' photos and getting slightly confused at the points where it ticked over in the middle of a year.

What I would love is if you could enter custom numbers for the focal length ie 50 for my 8 element 50 1.4 and say 51 for my A50 2.8 macro. the Q is basically capable of this.

Yep, I keep my file numbers though, but set the folders to date, it works with my filing system (I have backups separated by month), I also set images to kp19 and video to 19kp, easier to file. Also copyright info set to 2019.

You could use a tool post-processing. I just had a play with "A Better Finder Rename 10" which I have on my Mac. I've mostly used it for wrangling MP3s I created off my CDs, but with some work it could do just about anything you want...

Yes it would be easy to write it to the metadata in Digikam. As you probably know but the thing is with old glass is that the camera doesn't recognise it and if you want effective SR you have to enter the appropriate focal length at startup when the camera prompts you. It would be no additional work to have a unique id focal length for each lens.
