The family photography hobby has now extended with my youngest daughter Eilish (11yo) enjoying photography.

A very nice white K-01 arrived from the USA via PF Marketplace on Friday, and we have been out on photo walks both of the last 2 days, which has been loads of fun.

Her photos are displayed on Eilish Photographs

I am quite impressed with the quality of the K-01 images.
It can be interesting to see what children photograph. My daughter is 7 now, but she's been using cameras off and on since she was reasonably young. Her interest in photography seems to come and go a bit, depending on all her other interests, but she does take some nice photos at times, and she's certainly more photographically inclined than her mother, who is the only person I know with an uncanny ability to disengage the autofocus accidentally on my old K-x just about every time she uses it. (Maybe I should just put a MF lens on it so my wife remembers she has to focus. )

The Z7 has been a bit of a wake up call that they stick crappolla over the sensor that the mirror system in a dslr takes care of. If you are critical focussing as in closeups or manual lenses then LV beats the OVF hands down.
I admit I am unpractised in LV focus peaking, but what little experimentation I have done suggests its usefulness depends on the subject. I pointed my camera at dense foliage and it was rather hard to tell what was in focus.

Good luck with following a moving subject because the viewfinder will show you what has happened a short while ago, not what is actually happening.
Pfft! I solved that when I was using my first digital camera, a 3 megapixel Fuji S3000. While panning to follow an airliner on approach into Auckland's RWY27, I would hold the camera out in front of me, strap pulled tight against the back of my neck, and while framing with the on-camera screen also peer over the top of the camera to align the aircraft above the EVF hump. When pushing the shutter, the screen would go black for about 1.5 seconds, but I could continue my visual tracking solution over the top of the camera.

I think that is then called experience - sometimes the learning is more expensive than other times...

True, but those "KC 1000" cameras are very rare as well!

Don't bother with the regular "K" model, go for the special "KC".
