That's a different one. It actually looks a bit better than the one I looked at.

In the end I took our puppy for a playdate with friends who have a couple of year old dogs to see hour they interacted, and after a little bit of barking initially everything settled down and they were pretty happy together.
It's a house full of kids as well, so our puppy certainly won't lack socialisation, and the kids are likely to go silly over her as she's fluffy like a teddy bear.

A slightly disturbing trend on TM. Note the questions in the second screenshot.
If I was the seller I just wouldn't take their bids.
The seller has chosen not to describe.
I choose how much to risk on that basis.
Do you think the questions have a legal footing?

I suspect those bidders do not have a good understanding of how auctions work.

Interesting that there is two of them and I have never seen that contract approach before.
I suspect they are both profiteering and trying to minimise their risk exposure.

My approach is if there is fungus then I don't bid. If the seller clearly describes fungus, I think good on them for being honest and upfront, but I am not interested. If the seller doesn't put up enough images for me to make a call, then that is their business, but I won't bid. Generally the price reflects the level of risk and information being provided - for example a rare lens, well described/presented, in pristine condition will generally attract good bids, and a good price.

I've been on the receiving end of a fungus damaged lens a few times. And that, usually, after asking the seller if the lens is clear, no haze, no fungus. It seems many people either don't know what fungus looks like or can't see!

Gods, it's good to be back. Even though the weather has been mostly crap.

I second that on the weather. A week in Wellington hasn't been exactly exciting. There were a couple of fine days, but I've had a non-Covid respiratory infection that's left me feeling pretty breathless. I thought I was over it, but it flared up again when I arrived in Wellington. Ronald McDonald House say you're supposed to report any signs of infectious disease, and it's a daily rat test at the moment, but I'm not sure what you're supposed to do if you are sick. I looked at some of the surrounding 'accommodation', and it looked decidedly suspect, so I'm really glad they didn't kick me out.
My view from the window (on one of the better days):

Feel better! I'm not sure those spots have a heat pump... That's tricky for sure - moving around means exposure to all sorts of colds and flu now (I am testing myself daily). Yeah, I'll be down in the Hutt the week after next, am looking to go various places and am a little worried by the weather (Zealandia would be nice!). That said, the second day we were in the Waikato and the weather turned it on - it was beautiful. It was 17 degrees here today (albeit pouring with rain and howling (not quite Wellington standard, but still).

Certainly will be (family all over the North Island, friends in the South). Landed in Auckland, down to Hamilton, Up to Whangarei where I currently am, Down to Katikati/ Tauranga early next week, then Rotorua, then fly to Wellington, flying/ finishing up in CHCH, fly out of AKL In among this, am also working a few days remotely.

I need to go north more often — never see the giant Kingfishers down here. Can't be a regular sized one because I can never get that close!

There are some real shockers around. I've only ever been in a few. Mind you, my auntie used to live in a shack like that in the back of beyond up Mangles Valley. It certainly had better facilities than our three room tent down in the field!

I suppose between respiratory problems and the weather you haven't got out much. Very shortly after I gave my rundown of Zealandia I went in again and on a pearler of a day. Blue dome day, although at 10am it wasn't exactly comfortable when in among the trees!

I did get to commune with this one for a while. I am constantly amazed by the volume produced by some birds and Korimako, while not the loudest, are certainly up there. For a short time there were three of them in one tree just above my head making a complete din! And it was wonderful.

We did manage to get up to Wellington Zoo on a reasonable day, but I was pretty exhausted and not really feeling like taking photos all that much, however there were a heap of cheeky tui about providing unofficial additions to the wildlife.
We did go up the cable car on Thursday, but it was overcast, and it was getting near time for my wife to head off for her daily irradiation, so we didn't make it to Zelandia.
It's a bit of a weird feeling coming to Wellington for a week and mostly doing nothing but sit in an apartment, but under the circumstances it's certainly preferable to spending over 3 weeks apart.
If I'd sat down at the bus stop outside the door, I'd have had plenty of aviation action, as there was quite a few air ambulance arrivals at the hospital over the last few days.

I'd tell them to blow it out their ear.
