My reply 1xM50/1.4--1xM50/1.7--1xM50/2.0--FA50/2.8 Macro--Helios 58/2 M42--Voigtlander 58/1.4 so I ask myself the same question, do I need it?

My cheque book got stretched quite enough at B&H earlier in the month, and with the accompanying holiday

Well presented lens, but description isn't "entirely accurate".

Hmmh.

Inverse image search didn't bring up anything, though.
I'd still be a bit cautious.

Pick ups are allowed so for folks that could do that, it seems safe to bid.

Yeah it is a bit too professional photo for a first timer that "doesn't know the lens".
Did a bit of experimenting , saved the image, resized it(doubled) and did an image search and it did not match up the trademe original.
Essentially the image search is shite.

the 'other listings' do include an old film era KX with a 'wide angle' lens...so seems legit. Same backdrop too in it's photo. Similar reflection in both lenses.

Happy bidding. Not sure it's all that 'wide angle" though!

I was thinking that myself but wasn't going to mention it. Wide aperture but not wide angle.

CSI styles there, maybe if you press the flashing 'Enhance' button you'll be able to see their license plate number in the lens reflection.

My 1.2 came thrown in with a K100D, described as a portrait lens, quite accurate

Some more macro attempts. Small aperture, to help with the focus.
First is a small weed flower, second a walnut.

One other thing I found important for a stable stance is weight in your hand. That's one of the reasons I'm selling the video camera. It weighs nothing so I simply cannot hold it still.

I just weighed it in the box with all the accessories and it is 105g lighter than the K-5 with 55-300 mounted!
You'll have to build yourself a Steadycam!

I will never look at a walnut the same way ever again. Amazing!

I had considered that, and if that were the only problem I probably would have. My plan for that was a length of thin wood with a tripod mount screw in one end and some arrangement of weights hanging under the middle.

When I was in Photo Warehouse the other day I mentioned the video camera problem and was shown a $2000 Panasonic that was engineered as a shoulder-cam. It still had the piddly little battery tucked in back and obviously the main body was mostly 'extended' for size, but it could be an interesting direction to look at in the future. It had a similar size to my old VHS one though a little thinner and quite a bit lower.

I'm getting a lot more interest in my vid cam on Trade Me after setting my price lower per advice here. About 25 hours to go on the auction a this stage. Fingers crossed. I think I will save the pennies and look toward a K-3 (or newer!) and/or the 150-500 later in the year.

Remote shutter setup for the Q
If you are wondering why resorting to the old cable technology, it is all about retaining SR and using IR remotes turn it off.
Luv the snot all over it-- blooming fiddly to mig.
Built up from a hotshoe base from an old flash.

Of course, the key thing with a steadycam setup is weight (sitting low) and some form of shock absorber. The better rigs add around 25-35kg of dead weight!

I was going to comment about the welding, but then you have already! All you need is some no. 8 wire!

The horizontal shaft is 38mm long and the nut that the flexy screws into is a computer motherboard spacer so things are a little small for a stock standard mig. It would be good if there was a way to turn the wire feed off--- is there?
