Ricoh should put out a Pentax 42mm prime. It would be the ultimate answer to the ... hang on what was the question?

Or put our daughter under the Christmas tree smiling sweetly and hand the camera to my wife should just about do the trick. Mostly she just takes photos of our daughter or other people's kids, usually in their hundreds, which sit on the computer for a few years before she realises the parents of the other kids probably took hundreds as well - and then deletes most of them!

Kapiti Island in the background and the Otaki Beach foreshore.
Very occasionally I have driven along Centennial Highway between Paekakariki and Pukerua Bay (where I grew up) at just the right time for a sunset. Ocean sunsets are magnificent. This shot qualifies as one, I guess. In any case, it is magnificent.

Other HHGTTG concepts/technologies that could be useful in photography:

1. Flying (throw yourself at the ground and miss)
2. SEP fields (Somebody Else's Problem – a means of concealing yourself – good for wildlife photography)
3. The room of informational illusions – although taking photos could be tricky
4. The infinite improbability drive – always be where and when you need to be for those perfect shots
5. Total perspective vortex. Well, maybe that's just for non-Pentaxians

That is a very nice image, thanks for sharing
Cheers guys. I have the advantage of overlooking Otaki so I have some guessing as to where it was taken from.

Mark Gee in Wellington got a cracker shot of the sun before it set last night.

I don't know, but I can tell you that if you want to know the name of the designer of the lens it is ... not important.

But Arpe -- could do better
I'm up/down to 28 now. If I were any greasier, you would have to call me a bodgie!

Oh no.

I second the recommendation to try other doctors. Sometimes you just have to find the right person who knows what to check for.
I think they've given up trying to find the culprit. All they're saying now is that "spleen and liver function is improving" this of course from the blood tests. A bit frustrating, but then I should probably not complain about the "improving" part.

You would know if you had Mark, because you would have been wiping poop splatter off your face, or rinsing your mouth out.
So often the roads are covered in it around here. Specially bad when out cycling early in the day. But no, they've tested for it and it's not the culprit.

Maybe he does not own a spade and is therefore Douglas?
