Cool shots! I went to my first ever dawn parade on Saturday - in Masterton.

Impressive, thanks for sharing.

I would like to see a "Make love, not war" projection interspersed.
That would be pluralistic, not heretic, AFAIC.

Jeeze how to kill a thread
someone on TM offered me a Tamron 90 for $200...the latest one, bit of dust in it
heck I paid $420 for my FA100/2.8 that I hardly ever use.
$200 seems awfully good for a super sharp macro
I wonder what I'd get for the FA or, shudder, the 90/2.5 SP BB ?

Seems like a great price for the Tamron, but you don't need it if you have the FA 100/2.8, right?

Pentaxians seem to love the FA 100/2.8. Too bad the lens itself looks so uninspired. Shouldn't matter, but it does to me to an extent, if there are optically as good alternatives.

Very nice image. It is a bit soft, but I very much like the colours and the expression of the dog.

I was about to claim the softness was the limitations of the auto110 70mm lens on the Q but thought it might be a good idea to tripod mount and see what I could achieve.

A big improvement.
70mm on the Q is 250 -300mm on the K30. and it was an overcast afternoon -- 1/50 sec.
Hand held was silly .
But you are right - the image is about the colours.
That is what has been great about messing around with the Q and old lens -- it makes you aware off other qualities other than sharpness alone.

A mate alerted me to what I think is the same Tamron going on FacePlantBook for $180, and I was tempted at that price.
Vendor isn't from Gore is he?

Gore it is.
I have soft spot for Tamron macro it does sound like a great price.
You do lose quickshift over say a DFA lens but also 4 or 5 clicks cheaper
As ClassA said the old FA is a goody but the looks are less than styley
I call it the beer can.
