Dammit guys I'm on ebay enough as it is looking for an adapter

Speaking of which there are a couple around, one on Trademe and a bunch of Ebay
Lens Adapter Nikon AI F Mount Lens to Pentax PK K Mout Camera with Glass AI PK | eBay

Nikon Lens Adapter for Pentax PK K200D K110D K20D | Trade Me

I'll give it a bit of thought before I commit, but it'd let me use the K-5IIs as a main camera and hopefully it'd work just the same for night stuff ^^

I'm a little hesitant, but I'm selling *most* of my Pentax gear and going over to Nikon, so figured I'd let you guys have first pick, after all the help you gave me moving into Pentax
Yeah nah, Pentax is shite mate, just ask around here --- oops wrong forum!

Not sure why you'd have trouble seeing the live view on the Nikon any more so than the Pentax though - weird. You can always brighten up the display I think.
As for button placement, like anything, you get used to it.

Yeah I know it's a little weird, and maybe I didn't test it enough ... or maybe it's the lens that came with it (even though it's f2.8)
The displays actually brighter then my Pentax is currently

Yeah I think I'll get used to it, but it's more that Pentax seemed to be desigend for how I shoot, and the Nikon's a bit off, and it doesn't feel as natural. The ISO button and the single/continuous/self timer slider is my biggest gripe for using in the dark. But really it's only because I've been used to Pentax for over two years now

Hey everyone - I've hacked a 35-80 standard kit lens ( Pentax-F) to be a dedicated macro lens by removing the front element. I'm sure many of you have seen or heard about it being done with the Canon EF lens of the same length so I though I would try it on a Pentax. Here are some results, hastily taken just to get of feel of what it's like :-

It can certainly get close, but I think the image quality might be questionable !

Nice - interesting and creative first images. Taking the front element out is not something I had heard of - I must lead a sheltered life

So it's a zoom macro! Even if the image quality suffers a little, it almost looks like you're able to go past 1:1 with that second photo!

Turns out the live views darker because it actually adjusts based on your settings (something I missed moving to Pentax) but the shutter speed doesn't drop below 1/30 in LV ... because video, soo cranking up the ISO kinda works.
I'm gonna have to look into this one though, could be a bit of a deal breaker

I always wondered what one can use that lens for! (I'm sure I have one lying about somewhere.)

Yeah it wasn't too bad, but just a large one for these parts.
GeoNet - Quakes

---------- Post added 10-13-15 at 09:13 AM ----------

Caught the last days of the World Press Photo Exhibition over the weekend in Wellington.
World Press Photo | Wellington

I found the photo quality of the National Geographic exhibition to be better, as the World Press one was very much more about the stories (not surprisingly) and telling those stories in pictures, than about a single art piece.
Moving stuff though, with themes of pollution, conflict, and mans general dominance over the planet.
So, less about the photos and more about the content/messages within.
