I never mentioned salt. They simply reminded me not to use it in water. Advice on how to proceed? Pretty much told me there was nothing they could do. My first email stated it failed. Still waiting to hear from the eBay seller.

Stand fast. Mention purchase of a reputable brand tripod to avoid this type of scenario; tripod used in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Concede that it may have gotten damp, but didn't expect this as a consequence. Go from there

Oh yeah, I discovered I could tether my kp to my laptop via wifi as an external video display today.
Which software are you using on your laptop?

Actually quite useful for tethered shooting or vlogging. Ricoh could do far worse than looking at that software for a start point for a tether system.
Ricoh already offer their own "Image Transmitter 2" tethering solution. Unfortunately, it is not free.

Cool! You got it. I already have a good copy otherwise I would have bought it at that price. Let me know what you think of that lens.

Yeah, there's something magical about the $30 price point that just makes me want to buy stuff on a whim. I'm most interested in the 70mm macro end, but there are some interesting reviews of its other capabilities which could be fun to explore. Thanks for pointing it out!

It is a very cool lens. I had one for a while - the 70mm macro gives you some nice options

Yes, I'm quite fond of the 70mm macro too. But, it's a versatile walk-around lens too.

Not until Feb/March next year, unfort. PM me if you need help.

Postage is rather nasty, right now for NZ shipments - I gifted my brother my DA 50 F1.8, and it cost nearly half the cost to send it to him.
You can get by ship or air cheap, but tracking, and the insurance is the bit that gets you.

Yeah, BC is a bit away - 4333km - at least three North Cape/Bluff trips. Big country and all.

Ross - I think that Tokina 17mm is going to be great on the K1. Has a bit of fringeing - seems this one might be a bit soft on the right. But what a beauty for landscapes. This is in the Tararuas on the way to Totara flat Hut from the Holdsworth track. Still coming to terms with editing the K1 shots - bit oversharpened here!!
