Normally i would completely agree, better to go manual than AF when that close, but unfortunately my customer does not have the best eyesight anymore and requires AF
Which unfortunately means he is not going to see the AF missing the subject. Macro is one of the areas that quantity is the name of the game rather than getting it right in one. I don't think the K10D has liveview does it?.

the Da 15 ltd came out to 550NZD
Tamron 7-200 660NZD

55-300mm never did it for me, I think I have a bad copy. On to the next glass
The 55-300 would probably be the last Pentax lens I would sell. Now,,, [ On to the next glass ] what on earth am I going to use a M 200 f4 prime for???? If I buy any more stuff, I am going to have to seek help.

You don't need help - you can achieve it all on your own with a little effort. Buckle down and harden up.

That is not shame, that is a stunningly good collection on Pentax lenses brought with care, diligence and careful regard to price over a number of years

Duhh -- should have guessed it was someone here. After all who else would say "The lens also has "A" setting so on Pentax DSLRs the aperture can be controlled from the camera body" seeing only Pentax owners know pentax exists.

Definitely on a roll - trouble is total gamble here on mount. Can always on-sell it to my fellow club members. Didn't want to ask and draw search attention to the post - closed with 60 views.
Kiwi110auto - this would be a good option for your client - they are not overly expensive.

At least the guy who only has one lens doesn't lose sleep thinking about which lens he is going to use.

That is actually spot on. I get the feeling I'm a Jack of all trades rather than a master of one. I have simplified my actual photography immensely by using only primes, manual mode, raw, and Iso Invariance (throwing away the Iso adjustment). I mostly don't use the camera lightmeter - just guessing the light and chimping as I go. Things don't get more simple than that!. Then I go and stuff it all by having so many lenses I don't get the fine point of any!!

Unless it's a superzoom. There's always the focal length as well

I dunno - I got by fine with an 18-125 for a couple of years, it did everything it could do and I was happy with that.
