Just to keep this thread up there, and because I can-

It's amazing how dark it gets by 4:30pm in winter - 1/500 ISO3200 f2.8 (that's without the TC on, so true f2.8)

$600 return Palmy to Melbourne. sigh.

dropped into Welly Photo Warehouse only Pentax was an X-70
maybe all the DSRs flew out the door ?

Maybe we should just import a bulk lot with international warranties and distribute ?

Well I dunno if THAT one is 3200, but you wouldn't tell at that size anyway.
The foot thing - I wanted it at 3:2 and even splits, and the subject as big as possible and the same in each one. Hey, i was only playing anyway.

No, you don't want a K-7, you want a Pentax A 50mm/f1.2!!

Are electron-world reliable?
I am thinking of buying a camera from them, understanding that they PI but just need to know if they will come through and if there are any traps.

Hi Kiwi
There was an issue about them landing you with item GST on entry to NZ.

I'm pretty sure they can't add costs onto an auction on Trademe though, other than postage. Electron world list lots of stuff on Trademe.

I asked a question about what happens if customs asks for fees, but they didn't give me a straight answer. However, their feedback seems to be positive in the sense that everyone gets what they wanted with no extra fees, all the negative stuff seems to be people complaining about the fact the goods arrived from overseas.

I tried reporting a few of their auctions to trademe, as the official trademe rules state the goods must be in the sellers possession (i.e. no dropshipping). But nothing seems to have happened, I guess trademe doesn't really care as long as the success fees are paid.

Try to use "Search this thread" (top-right of the page) and enter "electron".

You'll find that CWyatt was happy with them while Arpe didn't like the hidden costs.

I seem to remember that their TM prices are slightly higher than their shop prices and therefore probably already contain some of the hidden costs.

It is probably best to contact them first and ask exactly of what your final bill will consist of.

Hmm TM has Sigma 100-300 that I had been looking for, only thing is when searching back it seems to be one CWayatt bought and returned in Feb "with issues". TM seller mentioned it had been in to Sigma repair agents last month, whoever they are. Are these issues likely to have been fixed by this? Would CWayatt care to comment?

I've previously purchased from Expert Infotech, and I was reasonably happy with them. They're parallel importers too, but with an actual physical shop (which I've visited). Customer service is a bit sporadic, and they're not terribly quick with their order turnaround.

They don't seem to have too much stock listed on their website any more, but I'm sure they can give you prices by request.

I've you're interested, the item I purchased was an AF 540 flash.
