Auto can mean a few things
my Auto Takumar 135 is 44 years old .
If it has the contacts it should transmit aperture from the body

"Auto" usually just means that the tubes have an aperture lever, i.e., pass one the aperture control from the camera to the lens. This allows you to focus wide open and then lens will automatically stop down when you take the shot.

Tubes that emulate a full P/KA mount are very rare. These have electrical contacts and will allow you to use the lens as an "A" lens. Only such tubes support lenses without an aperture ring. The normal "Auto" lenses as described above require lenses with an aperture ring and stop-down metering. The latter is said to be more accurate anyhow.

Have your tubes got contacts? Mine are "Auto" but don't.

Just checked - No They're Panagor. So I have to have an aperture ring for these to work? My FA's 50, 35 and 24 have a ring, and my Sigma 70-200 (coz it's first gen, y'know, the "good one"). Oh well, like I say, don't use them much.

Well the K100D has sold so there is no going back now !
Not that I have picked it up since the K-7 arrival
The bundled M50/2.0 was too tempting and the buynow button was selected.
Speaking of no going back, I am about to depart these forums as I can't stand the double standards displayed by the moderators, in particular Adam. Their inability to follow their own rules is the deal breaker for me.
cheers
Pete

Sad Pete, but we all move on. There's always hellophoto, but I am not that enamoured by it.

I notice all the aggro towards a shop called Frys on these forums not being called out by the mods, but we aren't allowed to say anything negative about sponsors' shops! How that cannot be called a double standard indeed is confusing.

Oh well, money talks I suppose and one has to earn it to live.

See you round on the others.

P.S. You're allowed back any time, we won't laugh at you, much.

You've got a good deal, I think (and the buyer too).

Are you referring to the fact that your question to B&H (sadly still unanswered, which makes me wonder what the intention of B&H is when they post here but then don't clarify how their post should be interpreted) has not been removed yet? Has Adam posted about the "B&H situation"?

Perhaps the rules just changed back to normal?

The moderators said they were discussing the B&H post to this thread and given that it and your subsequent question have not been removed, it seems that such discussions are no longer forbidden, or are they?

In any event, Pete, it would be sad if you left for good.

no, I was refering to

1. the refusal to consider my appeal against my "infraction "
2. refusal to hear my complaint that Adam used offensive language refering to forum members.
Hypocrisy
I have just been giving them a few days to reply.
cheers

Always find myself starting to whistle ..."I've seen all good people......" then have to go and dig out the vinyl to cure the ear worms.

I always wondered if it was a comment on the predictability of those in positions of power to make political rather than honorable decisions.

as in... I've seen all good people turn their heads each day, so, satisfied I'm on my way....

note the comma.
