DA 15 Limited is growing on me

I have to admit, the DA15 Limited had a slow start - I have taken quite a few photos around Timaru with it since it arrived 4 weeks ago, but I never been fully happy with the results.

I have been working up in Hamilton the past 2 days, and had some time to photograph early evening in the centre of Hamilton. I went down to the river and took some photos with both the Zeiss 35, and the DA15 Limited. I am happy with the images from the DA15 - the image below is an example. It is fair to say that the DA15 Limited is growing on me as a lens to use

Any idea of price, a quick look around came up with nothing. However when I recently got my K5 I decided that for what I do the K5 ll or lls didn't offer enough extra to make me pay full retail. I paid $1399 here in Christchurch and decided that would do me and getting it locally has given me the protection of the consumers guarantee act. It's a nice camera and since then the K10 has stayed in the drawer.

Just entered the win a DA50mm promo and ended up buying paper and ink. 4 x cli8 canon inks and 50 sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch metallic paper landed for about $100NZ if all goes well. The inks alone are about $135 in NZ.
Are you guys dedicated printers or are you happy with the screen?
Have just received the shipment and all looks good. The metallic pearl paper looks great. Looking forward to printing something tonight. Guess there is no point in asking all you plebs who leave your artworks unfinished what you think of metallic paper and what is good subject matter for it!!

Hello, don't usually post here.

But printing got me interested? What kind of printer are you using?

I would imaging a good landscape photo would look good and benefit from the glow of metallic paper .

Hi
I use a canon mp610.Very pleased with it. It seems to print a little warm but that is probably my monitor not calibrated. Busy printing stuff for the other half so haven't tried the paper yet.

Oh heck thats 4 sheets of metallic paper gone. But OMG it is a luvly effect. I tried the lilys I posted page 224 and the kowhai on page 208, both very nice reasonably subtle effect. The darks of course print normal but the highlights pearl up.
hmpws , I glanced at your posts and I think a photo like your "pebble" (a splash) you entered would come up really nice.

Not sure what you mean Pete but it is red river paper and I sourced it thru the win a lens competition you will have been emailed. That way it was free shipping. A review that I concur with is Polar Pearl Metallic: Red River Paper [Inkjet Paper Review] | Pixiq
If any kiwi forum poster wants to try a couple of sheets then email me and I will send some gratis. Note it is 8.5 x 11 (letter) and I presume It will run thru your printers

In a fit of lba madness....
I pushed an FA*300/4.5 to 1K on aussie ebay...the pristine thing was even able to be hand delivered over the ditch...
Must say the autobid saves one from the chasing it mania at the end
Some swine sniped it at the last second...cheap I suppose

Ain't it horrible to be beaten by one bid. And so neat for the bidding to carry on for another 50% or so. Makes your own lba appear almost sane!!
