It is quite interesting as I go thru my recent archives looking at what seems to give a superior bokeh. Not just the 50mm 1.4 but I like what the 55-300 accidentally does at times. And the soligor 400mm throws some pleasant results:

So, I was out walking this evening in a bush reserve, and took a few photos, as you do. I had the 35/2.8 Macro Limited on the K5 - good thing too as the path was pretty steep. I wasn't taking pictures for bokeh particularly - but I like what the 35 Limited gives me.

Sorry - had to delete it to submit it in this months contest .

This photo is here Zenfolio | Ross Waugh's Photographs | Nature if anyone wants to look at it

Cheers

Ross

Hi GUB, the 55-300 does that for me too on occasion

Wow I think that exactly qualifies what the bokeh competition is about.

I had to go further back into my archives to see a true bokeh Thanks to my good old finepix.

So, I thought - perhaps I might load it into the competition area, but it won't let me as it is already loaded on this thread. Does anyone have experience with this - how do you get around it, or do you just delete here?

Just logged onto here after a while of busy shooting.

Firstly thanks for the thanks on the Online Photographer post, bit out of the blue but rather cool, sure sent the interest in my website into orbit.

Secondly if there's anyone interested or about I currently have an exhibition at Photospace gallery in Wellington. On till early March.

Thirdly, I'd really like to thank NZ_Ross for the loan of now TWO of his lenses, I've been shooting a series for NZ Geo and they've been really, really useful. I didn't have the pocket to pick up any more lenses and he just lent them to me out of generosity, and I'd really like to put out there what a nice and generous thing that is to do. Top chap.

Almost as nice as someone lending you his flash - huh? huh? isn't it? huh?

Speaking of bokeh, I thought this was pretty good for a Sigma 120-300/f2.8 with a 2x TC on it, wide open (f5.6) at 360mm. TCs usually muck it up a fair bit, esp. a 2x, but this ain't too bad:

I must say I'm doing pretty well via this forum Arpe-who-lent-me-his-Metz.
