In the other thread you mention your interest in astro-photography. Do you know about the GPS module from Pentax that has the astrotracer feature? Brilliant use of the SR mechanism to avoid star trails.

Regarding parallel importing, bear in mind that the regular Pentax warranty is just one year as well. You could buy additional third-party warranty from the parallel importer. If you would be happy with a K-5 then T-dimension is a good place to get it from. Free shipping in case of a warranty situation. Pete (Transit) has used them.

The main advantage of the K-5 II(s) is that the AF still works in extremely low light. The regular K-5 peters out earlier and has a slight front-focusing issue in low light. The K-5 II AF could also be a bit more accurate in the very centre because it uses an f/2.8 AF area rather than an f/5.6 like the regular K-5.
I have the GPS unit and, while I haven't put a lot of effort into it, I haven't been that impressed with the astro-tracer function. Anyone managed to get it to work well?

Bit of a sale coming up from me. Will upload soon to the PF marketplace:
K-7 body
Pentax 31mm f/1.8 Limited
Pentax flash hotshoe cable
Metz 58 AF-2 flash for Pentax
Pentax shutter release cable
Orbis ring flash
Hoya 58mm HD protecter filter
B+W 49mm F-PRO UV MRC filter
2x Pentax DSLR batteries and chargers

Love my Pentax gear but, being largely a single lens user, have decided to move into the mirrorless fixed-lens world for my own work.
Let me know on the PF marketplace link I'll add soon if you're interested in anything.

I still have a DA 21 sitting in my drawer all by itself. Bit of a shame really, it's a damn nice lens, but the interest just isn't there for selling it.

Plenty of non-Pentax forums on here to keep us former Pentax users occupied

Very logical decision for him, given his photography

Why Ross ? Lots of B&W, lots of street, lots of symmetry and bold colours. If we were talking very low DoF, portraits & weddings (possibly), wide angles, landscapes or even bird photography (where CaNikon rule the roost ) then yes, but I'd have though the K5II would excel for his subject matters. Or are we talking even more exotic .... *whispers Leica*
