I also switched from the K5 to the K3 at the same time, and that was a much bigger change in terms of focus speed and accuracy for the 55-300. It used to hunt for focus much more on the K5. I am sure you have noticed the same behaviour on your KP vs the K5
I've not used the KP enough yet in my normal situations to form an opinion. Hopefully this nicer weather is going to play ball for a while and I may have some more chances... although of course... I shouldn't let rain stop me now!!
