1:51am: Earliest you will see the Moon in full redness
2:29am: PEAK! Moon is maximum redness
3:07am: Latest you will see the Moon in full redness
Interesting on this, in terms of how best to take a photo of this. Fine when the moon is full (assume we all get miracle clear skies) but as the eclipse dims the light (gets quite dark compared to a bright full moon, and a super moon at that) it's a lot harder to get a good exposure.
You can run for a longer shutter speed, but the moon (well earth rotation) is actually moving quite fast, and with a long zoom lens you really don't have much time for a shot before it blurs.
From memory I ended up opening my 55-300mm lens right up (no longer in the f8-f11 type sweet spot) and pushing up the ISO.
Anyone more in the know about max shutter speeds for the moon without motion blur? I'm guessing somewhere like no slower than 1/120s or similar at 300mm on a crop sensor?
