Is that 16-85 FF capable, and does it have a DC motor?

It's a fine edged sword really, the wider aperture for low light also comes with it the need to be very accurate with the focusing, given the narrower depth of field, and focusing in lower light is more difficult.

There's a DA17-70 , but it's not WR and has that likely to fail sdm motor.

Anyone have thoughts on a travel lens?

I'm considering that 18-135mm as it's WR. Massively varying reports on it's quality, from crap through to pretty good, but seems soft above say 80mm.
I like it as a walk-around lens, but it's never terribly sharp and suffers from significant purple fringing at the long end. That's nothing that can't be fixed in post but adds to the softness. I should experiment more with this lens, as I'm really not sure how much effect the aperture has – I'm usually just setting it for the amount of light.

The 55-300 is my most used lens, for perhaps obvious reasons, but while the 300 is what most people get it for, I find the 55 is wide enough that it's of use in a surprising number of situations. Back in my Sigma 100-300 days, any static aircraft needed a lens change. With the 55-300, that's often not necessary.

The Tamron 28-200 and the DA-L 50-200 both sold this weekend. I almost wasn't going to relist them again.
Just the 55-300 to go. I really thought this lens would've gone first.

Cool, congrats, I did have my eye on the 50-200, but a 9mm olympus lens cap came up - I caved in to wide and most likely a wee bit crap portability (I like fuzzy wide lenses).

The 9mm body cap is a fun lens... the 15mm one is surprising too.

I have the 15, it's interesting, but it usually just just gets left on a spare body as a lens cap - I vastly prefer the 20 1.7 for shooting

Got a great 3 minute exposure of the Milky Way on the Coromandel a few nights ago using Astrotracer and the 10-17 fishy - absolutely faultless sky at 12.30am. Can’t share it yet unfortunately as we’re hunkered down on the south west coast of the North Island hiding from cyclone Gita.

That sounds epic, a lot of time to capture light by the sounds of it.

Crazy rush trip to Wellington last Saturday, but it was totally worth it. Lovely weather and enjoyed checking out the Chinese New Year activities going on around the place. Very cool vibe.

Does not seem very different, based on the specs supplied. But I'd like one none the less!

Yes indeed Ross. I would have liked to see an increased buffer though, seeing as this upgrade appears to be a new motherboard.

Looks like the majority of the improvements are in the back so to speak, with improvements to the SR platform, the pixel shift systems, and the processor unit. Very minor overall, but it should really improve the handling
