Rookie travel photographer mistake.

Took camera from cool air conditioned room out early, and it fogged up when outside in the humid heat.

Had to wait half an hour for it to warm up...

A solution by the way is to store your camera gear in the bathroom (not normally air conditioned) so it stays closer to the outside ambient temperature outside.
Good work!

Eastern Canada:
- Winter to inside = foggy from cold (although usually not too bad as the central heat dries everything out).
- Summer to inside = condensation (usually bad from outside humidity)

Still, the Milo in the cupboard doesn't go sticky like in NZ!

I think the reference is for when traveling to high humidity/temp climates,.the best thing is if you haven't used the bathroom for a shower, store the gear out of the bag to allow it to come up to equiv temp/humidity to stop it condensing up when you go from the AC'd hotel room to the outside.

Aha! That makes sense.

Oh fully, wouldn’t recommend long term, just a few hours before you head out shooting 👍🏻🙂

Got this Tokina AF 20-35mm 3.5-4.5 recently. A very decent performer on FF, especially from f8 and smaller. Requires PP, dehaze works very well, to make it pop. Good sharpness and not bad at the edges as long as you don't pixel peep. More than worth the $150 price i reckon.

I really like the park scene shot above.

I’m not very good at visualising those urban angle type shots, and I really like the lines in that one. Congrats on the purchase 🙂👍🏻

Snapped this after sitting down in the shade, catching a break at a Vietnamese fish market.

I have been playing around with film for a while now with the Pentax LX and Pentax 67.

Before Christmas I had some Lomo Earl Grey 100 ASA film loaded in the LX, and decided amongst other things to photograph the Hydro Grand Hotel the day before it was knocked over. These scans are as I got them back from the film processors - essentially unaltered out of the camera. I thought the Black and White grain suited the run down Hydro.

I still have so much to remember and relearn about shooting film, but I am getting there slowly in between the busy-ness of work this year.

Thanks to Hayden for selling me the film

There are some butterflies wintering over in a big pine tree at our Art Gallery in Timaru. To capture these images I used my M*300 with the 1.7X AF Teleconverter and the K3. The images were also cropped for effect. So 765mm equivalent focal length plus the crop .
