hmmm 60mm bino'd refractor... sounds like an interesting project.. though the 100mm bino's we sell....

I would LOVE to find one of the Pentax 105mm ED refractors, big heavy telescopes designed for imaging.. they were pretty rare in NZ, not to mention expensive ANYWHERE.... but Pentax no longer make them, so the second hand market it where they live.. though still really expensive if you can find one.
The Pentax XF and XW series eyepieces are GORGEOUS astronomical eyepieces that rival the expensive Televue & Nagler designs, but are cheaper ($200-$500 an eyepiece vs $1000 a piece)

They are gorgeous, The former owner of the store i work in had a Pentax 80mm and rated it right up there with his Astro Physics refractor... for the Non Astro guys, AP Scopes start at around $8 grand for a basic telescope with no eyepieces, mount etc... Oh and they are made to order, last look at some models the wait time is out to 8 years......

I've got an upcoming visit to the West Island, and I noticed that K-70s are under $900 there allowing for exchange rate.
I had been thinking of going for a KP, but looking at a thread on here, KP vs K-70 - to KP or not to KP, that is the question - PentaxForums.com
The K-70 is actually a pretty decent camera in its own right, and quite a bit cheaper than the KP.
While I'd dearly like a KP, it seems like the K-70 is still a decent upgrade from the K-50 (which is still working fine - just it's starting to limit some of the photography I want to do.)
The balance that I'd otherwise have spent on a KP, I can put towards a lens upgrade.
I really want a lens that's sharp and reasonably fast in the 70-200mm range, but these don't seem to come cheap, so spending less on a body leaves more for a lens.
The difference in price between here and across the ditch for the K-70 looks to be about $300, however photowarehouse here throw in a kit 18-55 for effectively $37 more which I don't need, but in AU, with the kit lens, it's actually more expensive than here.
I don't know what the resale value of a kit 18-55 is, but that might narrow the gap in prices, and presumably photowarehouse have a NZ warranty.

If you buy from Aussie they will most probably honor a warranty as long as you take care of postage back and forth - I wouldn't try handing it in to anybody here in NZ for repairs though - some of them are really weird about 'grey market' cameras.
The kit lenses seem to go for $50-100 second hand depending how new they are.

Can I suggest you talk to Hayden (Kiwi110Auto) and see what he can do for you.

K-70

My wife got mine through TVSN. They claim they will honour their warranty should there be a problem. Mine came with a Sigma 18-125 and it seems ok. Delivery apparently was only a couple of days. I love the K-70.
