K3 and Zeiss 28/2 at Monument Valley

I am over in the USA at the moment. Conference last week, holiday this week. Yesterday my daughter-in-law Chelsea and I were at Monument Valley. This image is made with my K3 and Zeiss ZK28/2. I don't normally travel with my Zeiss lenses as they weigh a bit, and the Pentax 20-40 does the job very well. However, given I knew I was going to be in Monument Valley, and Grand Canyon tomorrow, the Zeiss came along. I love the 3D effect the lens gives, and the stunning amount of detail rendered.

Lovely shot Ross! Great landscape!

Oh, forgot to mention - There's a K-1 somewhere on a USPS truck in Arizona; Feel free to intercept!

Y'know - they say ya gotta have a bit of red in your photo somewhere. But I guess when the entire landscape is red ya gotta have a bit of blue in it!! Awesome result Ross.

Wow! With all that red, I'm thinking "Where's her spacesuit?" and is that a truck or Curiosity I can see in the distance?

Hi Mark, I have been reading about that. I have been seriously tempted to make the intercept - but then it might be a long time before you saw the camera

There are a number of trucks and cars in the background on the road. The one on the RHS is a tour truck with seats and a canopy on the back. We travelled into the area on one that was similar

Think of the thunderstorms you are missing here this year....
Nice shot.

Thanks Clarkey, we copped a massive thunderstorm while driving into the Grand Canyon National Park yesterday. Today was crystal clear and blue skies, and mild temperatures which was very nice.

A bit heavy on the sepia toning there!

Seriously, though, the 'regular' colours represented by Chelsea just go to show what an incredible landscape it is. We're so used to all our greens that this looks alien.
